1387: Bulgaria signs its earliest extant international trade agreement, between Despot Ivanko of Dobroudja and independent Genovese merchant community of Constantinople suburb of Pera.
1880: 2nd Ordinary National Assembly passes Minting Rights in the Principality Act, which proclaims the lev, divided into 100 stotinki, as Bulgaria's national currency.
1925: Three individuals sentenced to death for their part in April 16, 1925 bombing of Sofia's St Nedelya Cathedral are hanged in Bulgaria's last public execution.
2001: Balkan Political Club is set up on the initiative of former President (1990-1997) Zhelyu Zhelev.
2005: Bulgaria deposits instrument of ratification for Treaty concerning the Accession of the Republic of Bulgaria to the European Union.
2015: Council of Ministers decides to establish new settlement - village of Popovi Livadi - in Gotse Delchev Municipality, in Popovi Livadi area (Southwestern Bulgaria), designated mountain climate resort in 1967.
2022: Journalist Aleksandar Markov of Bulgarian National Television - Bulgaria's first journalist to cover on site Russia's start of military actions against Ukraine - is awarded by European Broadcasting Union (EBU) for his news report from Ukraine's Krasnohorivka.
