Bulgarian Embassy in Austria presented at a media event on Monday the programme of the upcoming May 24 gala concert dedicated to the Day of Saints Cyril and Methodius, the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture, and Slavic Literature, the Embassy said on Facebook.

The gala concert is being held at Vienna’s Konzerthaus for a third consecutive year under the patronage of Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Austria, Desislava Naydenova-Gospodinova, and with the support of the Embassy and the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Vienna.

In her welcoming remarks, Naydenova-Gospodinova highlighted the importance of the holiday and the concert as a cultural bridge, an example of cultural cooperation and proof of the universal language of music.

The initiator and artistic director of the cultural event, pianist Donka Angatscheva, spoke about the initiative and presented the concert programme and participants.

Some of the participants also attended the press conference, including cellist Teodora Miteva, soprano Madlen Cholakova and singer Sandra Pires. Christo Pavlov, director and conductor of the Sinfonietta Vratsa Symphony Orchestra, also took part, as a Bulgarian orchestra will appear on the stage of the gala concert in the Austrian capital for the first time.
