site.btaSofia University Again Lands Spot on Clarivate Ranking

Sofia University ranks 1226th among the best universities in the world and 424th among the best universities in Europe in the Clarivate Global Institutional Profiles Project ranking for 2025-2026, the university's press center announced on Friday.

The ranking examines the achievements of 23,450 universities in 51 scientific fields, of which 2,250 from 105 countries are ranked. Sofia University is ranked 459th in the field of Physics and 758th in the field of Chemistry. 

The universities are ranked according to 13 indicators that measure academic achievements: academic reputation, global research reputation, regional research reputation, publications, books, citation impact, total number of citations, number of publications that are among the 10% of the most cited, percentage of the total number of publications that are among the 10% of the most cited, international collaboration - relative to the country, international collaboration, number of highly cited articles that are among the top 1% of the most cited in the respective field, percentage of the total number of publications that are among the 1% of the most cited articles, the announcement also says.
