Iva Petrova has been proposed as Minister of Energy in the draft Cabinet of Rumen Radev.

She received her higher education with a master's degree in "Business Administration" at Sofia University. 

Petrova began her professional experience in 2000 at the Ministry of Energy, where she reached the position of Director of "Energy Markets and Restructuring" in 2008. Subsequently - from February 2009 to the end of June 2010, she was Director of "Projects and Investments" at the Bulgarian Energy Holding. 

Since September 2021, she has held the position of Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Energy, responsible for markets, strategy, reforms and investments under the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan in the areas of integration and utilization of renewable sources, energy efficiency, infrastructure, market liberalization. 

Since 2000, she has been a part-time assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics of Sofia University "Kliment Ohridski", currently teaching courses in the field of management and marketing of energy and utility companies in master's programs.
