Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC) President-elect Vesela Lecheva is visiting Almaty, Kazakhstan, where she held meetings with sports officials and Mayor Darkhan Satybaldy on Sunday. She is scheduled to attend the Shotgun World Cup on Monday, her press service reported Sunday.
Lecheva was welcomed by Almaty Mayor Satybaldy, Kazakhstan National Sports Shooting Federation Secretary General Oleg Pochivalov, Olympic medalists, and sports officials. She toured the Olympic facilities, which were built in recent months and will host the 2029 Asian Winter Games.
“The hosts are making huge investments in sports infrastructure, and three years before hosting the Asian Games, they are already almost completely ready,” commented Lecheva. “As a young country, Kazakhstan already has a significant Olympic history, and the hosts are ready to share their methods in a number of sports in which they have achieved success,” she added.
Lecheva was also a special guest at the opening of a sport climbing hall, which is also part of the Olympic complex.
In Almaty, the BOC President-elect is accompanied by European Shooting Confederation President Alexander Ratner.
