Caretaker Energy Minister Traicho Traikov and Deputy Ministers Iva Petrova and Krassimir Nenov held a working meeting with the leadership of the Electricity System Operator, the National Electricity Company, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission and the Electricity System Security Fund. The discussion focused on ways to maintain balance in the energy system and ensure its security while preserving stable conditions for end consumers, the Energy Ministry said on Friday.

The participants outlined potential short-, medium- and long-term actions in response to growing dynamics in the energy market, driven by the rapid expansion of installed and connected renewable energy sources. To keep the system running reliably with the current mix of conventional generation capacity, participants stressed the need for a coordinated state approach.

Traikov said the security of the energy system is a key priority, adding: "We are moving in the right direction with targeted investments in the grid and in new capacity, ensuring long-term sustainability."
