The Catalina hotel complex in the Tsigov Chark area reports an average annual occupancy of around 18,000-19,000 guests, with foreign tourists accounting for between 5% and 7%, Maya Uteva from the property's marketing department told BTA.

Located in the Western Rhodope Mountains overlooking the Batak Reservoir, the complex has two hotel buildings with a total capacity of 150 guests, offering rooms, apartments and villas. It is geared towards family tourism, group visits and corporate events, and includes a restaurant with a panoramic terrace.

A key feature is the expanded wellness area, which includes an indoor pool (7x15 metres, 31C), a jacuzzi (up to 37C), Finnish, infrared and aroma saunas, a hammam, steam bath, salt room and solarium. Two outdoor pools are available during the summer.

Uteva said the destination's main advantages are its favourable climate and proximity to natural attractions. The complex combines these with modern amenities, with all rooms equipped with individual climate control and wireless internet.

BTA presents news from certified spa, wellness, and medical spa centres in Bulgaria in its BG SPA: Salus per aquam, Health Through Water feature. Their total number exceeds 200. The initiative, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism, is linked to Europe's leading health tourism event, the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT, which will be held from May 11 to 13, 2026, in Varna, Sts. Constantine and Helena, Golden Sands, and Albena. BTA will be the event's main media partner.
