The state must support its citizens with solidarity, justice and real solutions, Denitsa Ivanova, top-of-the-list candidate of the BSP - United Left coalition in Ruse, said on Friday. She, together with MP candidate Emil Georgiev, met with representatives of the Union of the Blind in Bulgaria and with residents of the Dolapite neighbourhood of Ruse, the BSP press centre reported.
Ivanova outlined specific policies for supporting vulnerable groups, developing regions and restoring the welfare policies. During the conversation, a number of specific problems were raised, from insufficient support and inaccessible environments to challenges in social integration and personal development for people with visual impairments.
She also outlined specific steps for change: building a stronger welfare state, ensuring equal access to education, healthcare and social services, as well as a consistent policy to reduce inequalities. According to her, the state should be an active defender of vulnerable groups, not an indifferent observer of their problems.
