BTA will publish the names of the top-of-the-list candidates of every party/coalition for all constituencies for the April 19 parliamentary elections. The information about the candidates is provided by the respective political entity, the candidates themselves and other official sources.
Korneliya Ninova, leader of Defiant Bulgaria National Movement, is the top-of-the-list candidate of the party for Sofia’s 25th and Blagoevgrad’s 1st multi-member constituencies in the parliamentary elections on April 19. Decisions on the registration of the two lists have been published on the websites of the Constituency Election Commissions in Sofia’s 25th constituency and Blagoevgrad.
On 27 April 2025, the founding assembly of the Defiant Bulgaria party took place and Ninova was elected its chair.
Ninova is a former BSP chair and a member of parliament in several legislatures. She was born on 16 January 1969 and is a lawyer by profession, according to a biographical note on the website of the National Assembly.
From 13 December 2021 to 2 August 2022 she was deputy prime minister and minister of economy and industry in the government led by prime minister Kiril Petkov. From September 2005 to 2007 she served as deputy minister of economy and energy.
