President Iliana Iotova has refused to convene a National Security Council in connection with a note served by Iran, saying that in her view there is no problem. “We, as citizens, believe there is,” said There Is Such a People (TISP) floor leader Toshko Yordanov after a meeting with the head of state. “Turkiye and Iran are exchanging missiles, and yet there is no problem.”

He added that Iotova was not aware of the signing of the security agreement between Bulgaria and Ukraine and had been misled about the purpose of the trip.

Earlier on Wednesday, TISP showed a note from Iran to the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry dated March 18, in connection with US tanker aircraft deployed at Vasil Levski Airport in Sofia, and asked whether this note is authentic. The declaration on the matter was read from the parliamentary rostrum by TISP deputy floor leader Stanislav Balabanov.
