Regional governors have begun organizing the production of voting screens, to be used for voting with paper ballots, with some regions already conducting public tenders and securing the necessary materials, said Vanya Nusheva, adviser to caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gurov on election matters. She is on the Coordination Council for the preparation of the April 19 parliamentary elections at the Council of Ministers, which called a briefing on Monday.
More than 60,000 applications have been submitted for voting abroad, twice as many as in the October 2024 snap parliamentary elections. A total of 493 voting sections are expected to be opened abroad, said Nusheva.
