The Consumer Protection Commission has decided to impose compulsory administrative measures under the Tourism Act, temporarily suspending the operations of three tourist sites - two for accommodation and one for catering and entertainment. The sites are located in the Borovets resort complex, in the city of Sofia and in the city of Burgas as announced by the commission on Tuesday.

The measures are the result of inspections that identified serious violations related to the provision of tourist services in uncategorized sites without the required categorization certificates and will remain in force until the identified violations are eliminated and the activity is brought into line with legal requirements. The commission stated that such violations directly affect the rights and security of consumers, as well as undermine transparency and trust in the tourism market.

The commission reminded all traders in the tourism sector that the provision of services without the required categorization certificate constitutes a serious violation and leads to immediate administrative sanctions.
