site.bta57 Investigations Launched in Connection with Upcoming Elections, Interior Ministry Says

Acting Interior Ministry Secretary General Georgi Kandev reported on Monday on Facebook that up to this date, 27 days before the April 19 upcoming snap elections, 57 investigations in connection with voting have been launched. In the same period leading up to the October 2024 elections, four investigations were launched.

Kandev added that 272 warning notices have been issued so far, compared to 28 during the same period in 2024. A total of 152 reports were received from citizens, compared to 13 in 2024. 

Investigations increased by 1,325% in 2026, compared to 2024, warning notices are up by 871%, and reports from citizens by 1,069%, Kandev reported.
