An urban edition of Beglika Festival will bring together music, culture and community in Sofia on March 20 and 21, the festival team said on Friday. They added that the programme will offer a combination of music, visual arts, professional forums and open meetings with artists, transferring the festival’s core values – sustainability, sharing and cultural diversity – into a new urban environment.

On March 20, club Mesmerik will host Mantric Vibes (Bulgaria), Naturritu (Germany), Violons Barbares (France, Bulgaria, Mongolia) and Kliment (Bulgaria).

On March 21, the programme at club Bunker includes TonyStorm and Emigdala (Bulgaria), Ritual Healers, an electronic live performance by the French project Watt The Fox (didgeridoo and cello), and the Greek group Gidiki. The finale will feature a DJ set by Silent Citizen (Bulgaria).

On both evenings, the visual environment will be created by French artist Julien Vullier, who will complement the musical experience with specially prepared visuals.

A forum titled “In One Flow” is also planned – an open space for lectures, talks and shared discussions dedicated to the role of culture and art as tools for social inclusion, mental health and sustainable thinking.

The programme also includes art workshops, intercultural meetings and adapted formats for participants of all ages, as well as a special interactive performance by Ian Deadly (UK), featuring street performance, comedy and improvisation. The forum also extends an open invitation to speakers and active participants who wish to join the shared flow of ideas and practices.

A kinetic art installation, Liminara: Between Air and Water, will also be presented – a project that creates a visual and symbolic bridge between the club scene and the natural environment of the Beglika festival in the Rhodope Mountains.
