A Greek entrepreneur and technology specialist has created a news website with content generated entirely by artificial intelligence (AI), reported the Greek public broadcaster ERT. AIReporter.gr, created by Giorgos Efstratiadis, leaves it entirely to AI to generate the news, as the topics are still rather limited and mostly AI-related.

"The experiment began about two years ago from my personal need to stay informed on artificial intelligence development, since the rapid changes made it almost impossible to keep up," Efstratiadis said for ERT.

This was how a digital assistant was created to search for AI-related news from hundreds of sources, extract the most important information and publish it on the website. The idea gradually evolved into a fully autonomous digital platform that independently searches through sources, compares information, generates articles, and updates them every hour. Now the developers are only observing the platform as readers.

Efstratiadis raises special awareness of the risks of fake news that the technology itself may create.

He also places strong emphasis on children’s education, noting that AI should be used as a tool rather than a substitute for human thinking, ERT further reported.
