The Historical Museum in Dryanovo, Northern Bulgaria, is launching a museum video podcast, said director Ivan Hristov. For this purpose, the museum has set up its own studio equipped with professional audio and video equipment.
The goal of the new format is to reach a new audience through digital content, develop visitor engagement, and offer educational and engaging material dedicated to movable cultural heritage and showcase the richness of the museum’s collections.
The podcast, titled “The Museum Speaks”, will serve as a digital extension of the museum’s physical sites and exhibitions. Through it, the team will hold more in-depth conversations, explore connections between historical experience and contemporary challenges, and present different perspectives on important social and cultural topics.
Alongside the institution’s existing social media channels, the podcast will also provide information about upcoming events and initiatives from the museum’s cultural calendar.
According to the museum team, in the context of the rapid consumption of large amounts of superficial information in contemporary society, the podcast content will also serve as a valuable resource for future researchers on the personalities and processes of our time.
A constant focus of the new format will be the role of museums in a dynamic and rapidly changing world. “The Museum Speaks” will feature specialists from the Historical Museum in Dryanovo, as well as guests – figures from public and cultural life, representatives of national institutions, scholars, and researchers.
The team aims to release one episode per week. The content will be published on the YouTube channel of the Historical Museum – Dryanovo, as well as on the institution’s official social media profiles.
