site.btaNxMx’s Entropy and Order to Run at Cryptid March 2-21
Entropy and Order, the second solo exhibition by artist NxMx, will be on display at Cryptid Art Space from March 2 to 21, the host venue said on Sunday.
Working within the classic cut-up collage tradition, NxMx explores the tension between chaos and structure, and between deconstructing and reassembling the image, the host said. The new series departs from the artist’s signature aesthetic through a bolder use of colour, introducing psychedelic, saturated tones into a raw, lo-fi visual language.
Occultism, mysticism, and esoteric symbolism are not used merely as themes but as instruments for revealing the hidden mechanisms behind visible reality, the host said. Within Cryptid’s space, the exhibition unfolds as a visual ritual in which entropy and order coexist simultaneously, not as opposites but as mutually generative states, the host said.
NxMx works at the intersection of sound and visual art and draws on influences from Dadaism and Viennese Actionism. His practice centres on collage and object-based work, with strong ties to post-industrial and noise subcultures and their aesthetics. In 2008, he founded the independent label Abandonment and remains one of its key driving forces. In 2022, he presented his first solo exhibition at Cryptid Art Space, Balcan Noir, followed a year later by Anti-Records, co-authored with The Magwomb.
