site.btaTISP: "Our Political Behaviour Has Never Been Guided by Expediency but by Statehood"
The political behavior of There Is Such a People (TISP) has never been guided by expediency, but solely by the idea of statehood and common sense, said MP Pavela Mitova in a statement on behalf of her parliamentary group at the opening of the new plenary session of the 51st National Assembly. TISP is a partner in the outgoing regular government.
Mitova noted that Bulgaria enters the new year without a budget, which means without social protection, without social justice for wide circles of the population, and without security for business. In her words, the blame for this undoubtedly lies with all the political parties that rejected the budget approved by the social partners, so they will bear the negative consequences.
"Thanks to our consistent policy, the price of electricity for Bulgarian citizens has not increased and will not increase - something that was inevitable if we had not removed the proposal of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria for market liberalization from the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan," the MP noted.
"You probably have not forgotten how the opposition freaked out about Neftochim Burgas and the US sanctions. If we hadn't acted fast, Bulgaria would be in a fuel crisis right now, and Neftochim would not be working. We all know what happened in Serbia. We also know the fuel prices there after their refinery closed. The fact is that in Bulgaria we managed to overcome this problem and protect our citizens. The truth is that this government saved the money under the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan," Mitova continued.
"With the regular cabinet of this complex triple coalition, over 50% of the Plan was implemented," TISP recalls. In Mitova's words, as a result of Bulgaria entering a political crisis, no reforms can be implemented because there is no parliamentary majority. In monetary terms, that means Bulgaria will lose EUR 2.5 billion, she added.
In the field of foreign policy, TISP did exactly as promised - it did not allow a single Bulgarian soldier to go to Ukraine and it stopped "the lies and manipulations of North Macedonia" at the European Parliament level, Mitova went on to say.
"After a five-year battle, we managed to change the Family Code and ensure equal rights for both parents in raising a child. We also began the real fight against non-governmental organizations that make millions on the backs of our children," TISP say.
Thanks to TISP's request to the Constitutional Court, "some of the stupid changes made to the Constitution by the legal titans from CC - DB were removed," Mitova added.
She recalled that her parliamentary group had submitted a proposal to the current National Assembly for changes to the act on referendums, because direct democracy is the highest form of political control and power is exercised by the people without political intermediaries.
"In order to complete all the necessary reforms, there must be a functioning parliament and cabinet. That is why we will not stop here. Bulgaria needs right-wing conservative formations because European pseudo-liberal politics are clearly not leading us to anything good. At TISP, we have always defended and will continue to defend conservative values, which in simple terms means defending the normal family consisting of a man and a woman; defending a strong, sovereign nation state; defending Bulgaria's national values and ideals; stopping uncontrolled emigration and deporting all illegal immigrants; fighting the green deal and protecting our energy security and the Bulgarian economy," TISP say in their statement.
