site.btaUPDATED Velichie Promises Unprecedented Approach to Ensuring Fair Elections
"Our final task is to guarantee fair elections, and we will do so in a way never seen before," said here in Parliament on Wednesday Velichie leader Ivelin Mihaylov at the opening of the new plenary session.
Mihaylov added that Velichie's Parliamentary Group is new to politics and free from the corruption and lies present in most other parties in the National Assembly. "We are not people who dreamed of becoming politicians, but we were compelled by one main reason – to see what is really happening. We entered to help, to act as a link between the people and politicians," he said.
"We have reached a low point unlike anything in recent Bulgarian history," Mihaylov said.
"We truly tried to offer solutions that were free of charge. Farmers wanted irrigation systems for everyone in Bulgaria – we didn’t even get a hearing. We wanted to clean up Bulgaria for free – again, it was not considered," he added.
"Every action we took was obstructed by supporters of the main parties, who claim to be in opposition," Mihaylov said.
He also noted that his group endured humiliation while striving to remain constructive for the sake of the people.
"We cannot work with MPs who see themselves as aristocrats and assume they are elected permanently," the Velichie leader said.
"The last thing we will do is guarantee fair elections. God will ensure that we have a truly worthy National Assembly for this great nation," Mihaylov concluded.
