Odesa come under a massive attack by more than 10 drones launched from the Black Sea on Sunday night, with loud explosions heard across the city, Serhiy Lysak, head of the City Military Administration, said on Telegram. Two people were injured in the attack.
Regional authorities urged residents to take cover in bomb shelters due to the risk of further attacks.
Infrastructure facilities were damaged. One district of the city was left without electricity. A house was destroyed and four others were damaged. Emergency and municipal services are working at the scene.
Bulgarians in Odesa Region number more than 150,000 and were the third largest population group in Ukraine in 2001, according to the official census. About 50,000 - 60,000 Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
