The Bulgarian Museums Association and the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) signed a media partnership agreement in Plovdiv on Friday. The document was signed by BTA Director General Kiril Valchev and the Chair of the Bulgarian Museums Association, Ognian Todorov, during a working meeting between Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh and representatives of museum institutions that are members of the association.

Valchev said that by May 18, International Museum Day, a special section is planned to be created on BTA’s website together with the Bulgarian Museums Association and the Bulgarian National Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). The section will feature a news map of Bulgarian museums. “We will begin populating it jointly with the Association and the Bulgarian National Committee of ICOM, and after mid-year we will draw up a plan for BTA to sign agreements with all Bulgarian museums, which according to the Culture Ministry’s register number 176,” the Director General said.

“I am extremely grateful for the outstretched hand and for the initiative, we will act as a mediator in this direction,” Todorov said.
