Sofia’s Vasil Levski Airport welcomed its eight-millionth passenger for 2025, the Airport announced on its official Facebook page on Tuesday. The passenger arrived on the scheduled Bulgaria Air flight FB 450 from Rome at 12:15 at Terminal 2.
The statement specifies that the eight-millionth passenger was Valeri Trencheva, who travelled from Italy to Bulgaria together with her pet. She was given a ceremonial welcome featuring a festive programme, performances by the children’s vocal group Pim-Pam, and symbolic confetti marking the achievement of 8,000,000 passengers.
The event was attended by SOF Connect Executive Director Jesus Caballero, who drew an analogy between the song performed, “Let There Be Light”, and the future development of the airport. Bulgaria Air CEO Hristo Todorov was also present.
The jubilee passenger received a special joint prize from the airport and Bulgaria Air - a voucher for free travel for two people on a selected route from the national carrier’s scheduled services, including checked baggage. The voucher is valid for one year - until 16 December 16, 2026.
