site.btaKozloduy Nuclear Plant's Unit 6 Back On after Device Replacement
Unit 6 of the Kozloduy N-plant was connected to the country’s electricity grid at 10.54 am on Tuesday, following the replacement of a faulty safety device, the plant’s management said. On December 15, the unit had been shut down after a need was identified to replace a protective membrane device on the turbine’s steam superheater separator, located in the non-nuclear part of the unit.
The necessary repair work was carried out in accordance with the applicable maintenance and repair instructions, and the prescribed checks were completed.
According to technological requirements, the output of Unit 6 will be gradually increased. Unit 5 is operating according to schedule.
