Traffic has been restored at the Kulata-Promachonas border crossing, the Road Infrastructure Agency said on Thursday. Earlier in the day, it announced restrictions for vehicles over 12 tonnes. A tailback stretching several kilometres has formed in the area. Vehicle passage is limited and regulated by traffic police due to a protest by Greek farmers, who have parked agricultural machinery at Promachonas on the Greek side.

There is a heightened police presence in the area.

The protest began on Wednesday and traffic at Kulata was suspended shortly after 2:00 pm.
