site.btaTwo Operators Placed Bids in Procedure for Selection of Rail Services Provider - Minister

Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Grozdan Karadjov said that five bids have been submitted by two operators in a procedure for selection of carriers to provide public rail transport services, as part of the reforms under the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan. For the first, the western lot, only the passenger division of BDZ has submitted a bid. For the other two lots, the northern and the southern, both BDZ and Ivkoni Express have submitted bids, the Minister said.

The bids will be opened at noon on Friday. “We hope to complete the evaluation of the bids by the end of the year, after which it will be clear which operator will operate in which area,” Karadjov added.

Karadjov was speaking on the sidelines of a forum on the development of Southern Bulgaria, organized by the 24 Chasa media platform.
