site.btaTurkish Coffee Registered as "Traditional Speciality Guaranteed" in EU

With an announcement published Wednesday in the Official Journal of the European Union, Turkish Coffee is registered as a “Traditional Specialty Guaranteed”, or TSG, said the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB). The TSG registration is a result of an application made by TOBB​.

Following the completion of a three-month process, Turkish Coffee will become Türkiye’s first traditional product name to be registered in the EU. 

Turkish Coffee, one of the most deeply rooted symbols of Turkish culture, is also included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.   

The registered name Turk Kahvesi/Turkish Coffee may refer to either the ground coffee prepared using specific roasting and grinding processes and the beverage served by brewing this coffee using specific methods.
