November 25 (BTA) - There are all
conditions for a good and successful season, Malin Bistrin,
chair of the Union of the Tourist Industry in Bansko, told BTA.
He said that the resort offers a variety of packages which will
cater to the tastes of all tourists.
Bistrin said that this year around 60 per cent of tourists in
Bansko will be foreigners which means that Bansko is popular on
foreign markets. However, the local business is working to
attract more Bulgarian tourists, he added.
Bistrin said that the summer season at the resort was successful
with a 17 per cent increase in the number of tourists. "We held
various events which encouraged tourists to say longer than a
weekend," he said.
Bistrin said that the packages on offer showcase not only Bansko
but the region. "People can go horse riding, hike in the
mountains, visit wineries and monasteries. The practice of
different kinds of tourism is already felt and is bearing
results," he said.
The winter season is expected to open in early December. In the
following months Bansko will attract visitors not only for the
holidays but for sports and trips. A lot of visitors are
