site.btaPlovdiv to Host CeFood 2026 from September 23–26

Plovdiv will host the 13th Central European Congress on Food (CeFood 2026) at Radisson Hotel Plovdiv from September 23–26, the organizers said on Monday.

Under the theme “Connecting Excellence in Food,” the congress will showcase advances in food science and technology, biotechnology, food engineering, industrial technologies, tourism and hospitality, with a focus on translating research into sustainable, safe, innovative and competitive solutions.

Around 170 scientists from Turkiye, Spain, Brazil, Ecuador, Belgium, Italy and other countries are expected to participate. Key topics will include decarbonizing food processing, sustainable distribution of high-quality seafood, bakery innovation, sustainable winemaking and links between food preservation and antimicrobial resistance. International experts will deliver plenary lectures.

The congress will also host the 73rd International Scientific Conference “Food Science, Engineering and Technologies – 2026,” alongside workshops, cultural activities and visits to Plovdiv and Starosel.

The event is organized by the Plovdiv University of Food Technologies, with Congress Management & Events Ltd. as congress partner and support by Bulgaria’s National Science Fund.
