Varna's municipal transport operator has launched TTickets Varna, a new mobile app that combines ticket purchasing and real-time public transport information into a single platform, Varna Municipality said on Friday.

Available on the App Store and Google Play, the app replaces the separate Ticket Varna and Bus Varna applications as part of the city's new ticketing system. Passengers can now buy and store electronic tickets, track buses in real time, plan journeys, save favorite stops and routes, and sign in with Google or Apple accounts, the Municipality pointed out. Payments are supported via Apple Pay, Google Pay, and bank cards.

A key change is that electronic tickets become valid only after they are activated on the onboard validator, allowing passengers to purchase tickets in advance without starting the validity period. Validation on the vehicle is now mandatory, unlike the previous system.

The old Ticket Varna app will remain operational for a transitional period. By the end of 2026, Varna Municipality also plans to introduce contactless bank card payments directly on onboard validators, once banking and certification procedures are completed.
