site.btaPlovdiv Medical University Enrolls Over 2,500 International Students from 63 Countries

The Medical University of Plovdiv currently enrolls 2,530 international students from 63 countries, including 1,100 from EU member states, the university told BTA.

The largest groups of foreign students come from the UK, followed by Greece, Germany, and Italy.

The university offers English-taught programmes in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and, since 2025/2026, Nursing. Medicine and Dentistry remain the most popular programmes among international students, with growing demand for Dentistry, particularly among UK applicants, the university noted. Pharmacy continues to attract strong interest, mainly from Greece and Turkiye, while the new Nursing programme is steadily expanding.

The university attributes rising international enrollment to its strong academic reputation, high-quality education, modern facilities, extensive clinical training, and internationally recognized degrees. Competitive tuition and affordable living costs further enhance Plovdiv's appeal as a study destination.
