White Lagoon Beach in Kavarna Municipality has received the international Blue Flag award for the 10th consecutive year in 2026, White Lagoon Resort Executive Director Irina Shishkova told BTA.

She emphasized that the recognition strengthens the resort’s reputation and is highly valued by visitors, as it confirms the beach’s high standards and quality services. The award reflects both the area’s natural advantages and the resort’s ongoing efforts to maintain strict environmental, safety, and service standards, Shishkova pointed out, adding that the resort will continue focusing on quality and guest satisfaction throughout the new season.

Located between Balchik and Kavarna, White Lagoon Beach is known for its white cliffs, fine golden sand, peaceful atmosphere, and rich biodiversity.

Blue Flag is a voluntary certification programme of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), an international organization with members from over 80 countries. It has operated for nearly 40 years, annually evaluating and certifying beaches, marinas, and tourism vessels. Currently, around 5,200 sites worldwide participate in the programme, including Bulgarian beaches and marinas.

BTA will present all 32 Bulgarian beaches and ports awarded with the Blue Flag in 2026 by the international jury of the Copenhagen Programme. The first Blue Flag in Bulgaria was raised on Sunny Beach on July 4, 1995.
