The coastal city of Varna will host the 12th Varna Channel Cup regatta from May 22 to 25.

The event traditionally marks the beginning of the Bulgarian keel sailing season and is part of the calendar of the Bulgarian Sailing Federation.

The culmination of the regatta is on May 24, when the races will be held in the channel under the Asparuhov Bridge with a final in front of the Sea Station and will be able to be observed by spectators very closely.

The regatta is held under the ORC (Offshore Racing Congress) and IRC (International Rating Certificate), with the organizers paying special attention to the precise ranking of the yachts. The goal is for each crew to compete on equal terms, regardless of the model, size, age or equipment of the boat.

The event is organized by Varna Municipality in conjunction with the Yacht Club LZ Yachting 1991 and Ultramarine Sports Sailing Club - Varna, with the support of the Port of Varna, Varna Medical University and the St. Marina University Hospital.
