Parking in paid parking areas in Burgas will not be charged on May 7 and 8, as the city hosts the start of the cycling tour Giro d'Italia 2026 on these days, the Municipality said on Wednesday.

The local administration also noted that traffic restrictions will be introduced from May 6 to 9 and that cars parked on the closed routes will have to be moved. For this purpose, buffer parking lots will be provided and free parking will be offered at the parking lot of the Metro store and at the parking lot of the Billa store near the Trapezitsa intersection.

Two more free parking lots will be added on May 8 and 9, which will be on the second floor of the Grand Plaza mall and the Burgas State University. On the same dates, the right lanes of Odrin Street and San Stefano Boulevard will be designated as buffer parking lots as well.

The parking lot on Gurko Street will be used exclusively by the participating teams of the Giro D'Italia from May 1 to 9.
