Postbank has successfully funded the project for a Strazhitsa Wind Park near Balchik (on the Black Sea) with total investment value of approximately EUR 100 million, the bank said on Wednesday. The financial resource for Tessa Green Energy's project includes a long-term debt of EUR 78 million.
The financial resources for the implementation of the “Tessa Green Energy” project include long-term debt in the amount of 78 million euros.
The support for the implementation of the Strazhitsa Wind Park is an example of Postbank’s strategic commitment to sustainable development and the financing of projects with high added value for society and the environment, the bank noted. Postbank believes that investments in renewable energy are key to accelerating Bulgaria’s energy transition and achieving national and European ESG goals.
Tessa Green Energy CEO Alexander Shterev said that the company views the Strazhitsa Wind Park project as the first step in a much broader strategy for the development of renewable energy for Tessa Green Energy in the region.
The wind park project near Balchik is being implemented in phases. The first includes an installed capacity of 70 MW and 11 Vestas EnVentus V162-6.4 MW turbines, with commercial operation expected to begin in the last quarter of 2027.
The finalization of funding for the Strazhitsa project marks the resumption of large-scale wind project development in Bulgaria after more than a decade of stagnation, Postbank notes. The last comparable wind project to secure financing in Bulgaria was completed in 2012.
