The Ministry of Innovation and Digital Transformation has opened a funding scheme to support the introduction of green technologies in businesses operating in Bulgaria. The project is part of the Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises Programme and has a budget of nearly EUR 83 million, the Ministry's press service said on Wednesday.
The measure is aimed at micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. Companies will be able to submit project proposals online through the Information System for Management and Monitoring of EU Funds in Bulgaria until November 10, 2026.
The minimum grant available under the scheme is EUR 77,000, while the maximum can reach EUR 450,000, depending on the category of the enterprise and the aid regime selected. The funding can be used to purchase new machinery, equipment and software, as well as patents, utility models, industrial designs and licences. Services aimed at compliance with environmental standards, including the EU Ecolabel, will also be eligible for funding.
The new measure will contribute to the implementation of the Integrated Territorial Investments approach. Its aim is to encourage investment in the introduction of green technologies in enterprises and to accelerate the transition to a circular economy. Support will be provided for the implementation of circular models that promote more efficient use of resources, as well as for the adoption of climate-neutral methods for the production, provision and consumption of products and services.
