The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued a first-degree warning – yellow code – for a heatwave that is expected to hit Bulgaria on Monday. Temperatures in the lowlands are expected to range from 33C to 38C.
A yellow code warning for high temperatures was issued on Sunday for 14 regions: Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Silistra, Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Haskovo, and Yambol.
