site.btaCabinet Provides Additional Funding for Hosting of Giro d'Italia

The Council of Ministers Wednesday amended a previous cabinet decision regarding funding for the hosting of the Giro d'Italia - Bulgaria Grande Partenza cycling race in May. Additional funding has been allocated for conducting more intensive and effective promotional campaigns, both nationally and internationally, the Government Information Service reported.

A total of EUR 100,000 will go into the purchase of broadcasting time on Bulgarian National Television so as to carry out an advertisement campaign promoting domestic tourism, promote Bulgaria's hosting of the world event, and inform the wide public about Giro d'Italia.

Another EUR 100,000 will be used to purchase broadcasting time on EUROSPORT1 and EUROSPORT2 to strengthen Bulgaria's international image as a tourist destination and attract foreign tourists by carrying out a broader and, thus, more effective campaign on multinational TV channels.
