The third stage session of the travelling folk festival titled "Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance" took place at the Palais des Sports in Lyon on Saturday. It featured 22 vibrant performances by Bulgarian folk groups across Europe and beyond.

Ritmika Folk Lab from Milan were the first to perform. They dedicated their performance to those unable to take part due to injury or illness. Ensembles from Spain, Germany, Ireland, the UK, Cyprus, France, and even the United States took the stage, showcasing traditional dances and customs, including a re-creation of Forgiveness Sunday (the Balkan Dance Group from Madrid, Mostoles and Fuenlabrada) and original choreographies like "Balkan Syndrome" (Na Megdana from Gandia, Spain) and "Rose Picking and May Festivity" (Madina from Leipzig and Gizdavi Momi from Jena).

Several more Bulgarian folk dance groups based in Germany also performed during the third session: Detelina from Dresden, Impuls from Frankfurt, Samodivi from Nuremberg, RitmiKKa from Hamburg, Dunav from Dusseldorf, and Lazarka from Munich.

Fifteen-year-old singer Gabriela Ivanova from Dublin performed alongside Folk Dance Club Chemshir from Northern Ireland, while the Nashenki choir from Milan brought a medley of songs to life. For the first time, the festival welcomed a Bulgarian group from the US, the Ensemble Horo from Chicago, with their show "The Wonders of Bulgaria."

The event ended with "Return to the Roots", a collaborative performance uniting dancers from several countries: Na Megdana from Gandia, Bulgaria from Palma de Mallorca, Kanatitsa Association from Strasbourg, Kitka from Essen, Sborna Druzhina from London, Galeni Momi from Gelsenkirchen, Horo Dance Group from Freiburg, and Nestinari Bulgarian Dance Club from Berlin.

The 10th festival mottoed "Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance" opened in Lyon, France, on Friday.

As the official media partner of the event, the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is covering it on site from Lyon on June 6-8. The participating ensembles will be featured by BTA's English service from June 9.
