Culture, history, and language specifics of Bulgarians in Moldova will be presented at a future Bulgarian Institute for Language and Culture in Madrid, Antonio Perez and Petya Kirilova of the Estreya Bulgarian-Spanish Cultural Centre said at a meeting in the Taraclia Regional Council on Tuesday. The Institute will be established in partnership with the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry and the Bulgarian Embassy in Madrid. 

Taking part in Tuesday's meeting were Taraclia District President Lazar Dermenji, Bulgaria's Consul in Taraclia, Lyubomir Dimov, the Head of the Taraclia District External Relations Service, Stepan Karamalak, and the Head of the District Council Culture and Tourism Department, Tatyana Papurova.

The Estreya representatives visited Taraclia to carry out cultural exchange and to document preserved local traditions, folk songs, dances, and linguistic features of Bulgarian identity.

Dermenji presented details about the Bulgarian population in Moldova and invited the guests to the Ethnofestival in Taraclia in September, as well as to the gathering of Bulgarian communities in Romania in November, organized with the participation of Romanian MP Georgi Nakov.

Papurova presented a cultural programme prepared for the Spanish guests, including visits to villages with Bulgarian populations, the Museum of Cultural Heritage in Taraclia, the branch of the Ruse University, meetings with leaders of Bulgarian organizations, a concert, and others. She said that at the end of the visit, on August 15, a cooperation agreement will be signed.

Bulgarian-born Petya Kirilova, originally from Dolna Oryahovitsa, and Spaniard Antonio Perez are a married couple living in Malaga. They are engaged in both public and medico-social activities. They are the authors of the therapeutic programme Neuro-Language Progress for dementia prevention through learning Spanish, which includes innovative methods such as yoga, art therapy, balance and motor skills exercises.
