Odesa is under a massive Russian drone attack, with explosions heard in the city, Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov said on Telegram.
More than 20 drones are circling over various parts of the Ukrainian Black Sea city, local Telegram channels reported.
City authorities urged residents to immediately head to bomb shelters. The alarm was declared at 2:34 a.m. and lasted until 5:20 a.m. Tuesday morning.
There are casualties and destruction as a result of the Russian drone attack this morning in Odesa, the number of which is being determined, Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said on Telegram.
According to his information, there is destruction and fires in the city, and damage has been caused to civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, a kindergarten, and garages.
Odesa Province is home to the third largest community of expatriate Bulgarians, numbering more than 150,000 people, according to an official population census in Ukraine in 2001. Between 50,000 and 60,000 Bulgarians live in the provincial capital, Odesa, while others are concentrated in the districts of Bolhrad, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
