"A system can change under constant external pressure," said Prime Minister Rossen Zhelyazkov during the opening of a career forum of the Bulgaria Wants You platform. The forum is taking place in Sofia Saturday under the motto Bulgaria Across Five Oceans.
“We need to understand that our social and political system is unlikely to become so successful and favorable that only then will people start coming back, seeking similarities with the better world in which they studied and worked. We rely on every single person who returns, so that through their educational and professional influence, they can change the system itself,” the Prime Minister commented.
“We count on these people not only because they should be the engine of change, but because of the skills they possess. The Bulgarian economy and business depend on their transformative power, so that goods and services with high added value are produced in Bulgaria. We should not be attractive as a country of cheap labor. We must be innovative, high-tech, and modern,” said Zhelyazkov.
Bulgaria needs the skills of young people who have gone abroad, received a good education, and have become accustomed to the discipline of modern life in Europe - and not only in Europe, but globally - to return to Bulgaria and bring back those skills. That will transform the business environment, the climate, the institutions, and will make the country different. They must participate not only in business but also in public life and politics - they must be engaged, the Prime Minister declared.
Bulgaria Wants You is a platform that presents Bulgaria as an attractive place to live, work, and invest. The organization partners with leading businesses, institutions, and NGOs, and through dozens of events in Bulgaria and across Europe, has reached thousands of Bulgarians.
