Loud explosions were heard in Odessa and Chernomorsk in the early hours of Saturday morning.

An air alert was announced at 5:37 am (Bulgarian time). According to the information on Telegram, the Ukrainian armed forces have destroyed a ballistic missile and a drone.

At 6:44 am a very loud explosion rocked Odessa. Telegram reported a ballistic missile. According to preliminary data, it hit a target.
The threat of a missile attack in Odesa and Chernomorsk remains high.

Odesa Province is home to the third largest community of expatriate Bulgarians, numbering more than 150,000 people, according to an official population census in Ukraine in 2001.

Between 50,000 and 60,000 Bulgarians live in the provincial capital, Odesa. Bulgarians in the province are concentrated in the districts of Bolhrad, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
