site.btaFolklore Magic Dance Ensemble from London to Connect People Across Time, Borders at 11th Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance Festival

The Folklore Magic dance ensemble in London, England, will perform Libe Le, Libe Hubavo at the 11th Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance travelling folklore festival, which will take place from May 15 to 17 at BMW Park in Munich, Germany.

“We chose this dance because that is the theme of the festival and because it carries that pure, unadulterated emotion that connects people across time and borders. It has tenderness, teasing, youthful devotion and that warmth that every Bulgarian recognizes from the first bars,” said Daniela Georgieva, head of the ensemble.

“We want to remind the audience of something simple but true, namely that love opens all doors. When we are open to each other, we become better, more responsive, more human. This is exactly the feeling this dance brings, as light that is transmitted from person to person,” Georgieva emphasized, adding that the ensemble currently includes a truly diverse range of generations of dancers aged 16 to 66. “We also have participants from different nationalities who are very eager to touch the Bulgarian tradition and accept it as their own,” she pointed out.

The travelling festival is organized by and for amateur folklore ensembles performing outside Bulgaria. The initiative was launched by the "Ot Izvora" group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the first edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. More than 100 dance ensembles and over 4,000 guests are expected at the 11th Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance in Munich in May. The Bulgarian News Agency is the official media partner of the event and will present all participants.
