An exhibition showcasing drawings by Bessarabian children from Moldova, opened today in the Largo area of Sofia’s Ancient Cultural and Communication Complex Serdica.
Among the official guests were Moldova’s Ambassador to Bulgaria Emil Jacote and his wife, Bulgarian language lecturer in Chisinau Dr. Lyubomira Jacote; Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Nikolay Berievski; the head of the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad Rayna Mandzhukova; Chair of the Parliamentary Foreign Policy Committee Yordanka Fandakova; Chair of the Cultural and Educational Association Rodolyubets Galin Georgiev; Bessarabian-born poet Niko Stoyanov; Galya Duhneva, a teacher from the Vasil Levski Lyceum in Chisinau; and members of the diplomatic corps.
"Because of the history of our ancestors, we have reason to be proud and the responsibility to preserve and continue their mission. There are still awakeners today, people who protect the language, faith, and ancestral memory, turning them into a living force that connects us wherever we are in the world," said Rayna Mandzhukova, Executive Director of the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad.
Ambassador Emil Jacote welcomed guests, expressing his joy that the event presents Bulgarian literature through the eyes of Bessarabian Bulgarian children.
The exhibition is organized by the Embassy of Moldova in Bulgaria and the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, with the support of Sofia Municipality.
The drawings will remain on display until November 19, 2025.
