Turkish media have reported on Monday's launch of the Turkish-language version of BTA's BG SPA – Health through Water catalogue in Ankara.

Turkiye's state-run Anadolu Agency covered the event, which took place at BTA's National Press Club and showcased the potential of Bulgaria's spa and wellness tourism destinations. The Agency reported that attendees included Bulgaria's Deputy Tourism Minister Mariela Modeva, Bulgaria's Ambassador to Ankara Angel Cholakov, BTA Director General Kiril Valchev, Anadolu Agency Deputy Directors General Oguz Enis Peru and Yusuf Ozhan, Georgi Bogdanov of Augusta Spa Hotel in Hisarya representing the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism (BUBSPA), and Krasimir Martinov, Editor-in-Chief of Radio Bulgaria and representative of Bulgarian National Radio.

Anadolu Agency quoted remarks by participants highlighting the opportunities offered by Bulgaria's spa tourism sector.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Ambassador Angel Cholakov described the launch of the Turkish-language edition of the catalogue as "yet another important element in the exceptionally rich and diverse picture of bilateral relations."

BTA Director General Kiril Valchev told an Anadolu Agency reporter that the publication presented in Ankara was the first-ever Turkish-language edition of LIK magazine. He explained that the decision to translate the issue into Turkish was inspired by Turkiye's extensive experience in the field of balneology, as well as by the conviction that the catalogue would help Turkish readers appreciate "how wonderful it is to visit Bulgaria and experience something different."

Valchev noted that Bulgaria ranks first in continental Europe in terms of the abundance of mineral springs. The presence of mineral waters in both the country's seaside regions and mountain resorts gives Bulgarian spa destinations their unique character, he said.

The partnership between BTA and Anadolu Agency also contributes to greater mutual awareness and visibility between Bulgaria and Turkiye, Valchev added.

Haber Ankara also reported on the event, noting that it showcased the opportunities offered by Bulgaria's spa resorts and highlighted tourism cooperation between the two countries.

Other Turkish news websites, including Haber1 and Kitahaber, also covered the event by reproducing Anadolu Agency reports. AZERTAC published an interview with Mariela Modeva conducted in Ankara, in which she expressed hope for an increase in reciprocal visits between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan and described tourism as a powerful means of bringing people closer together and fostering mutual understanding.
