Since its opening in 2010, the Sevtopolis Medical & SPA Hotel in Pavel Banya has welcomed guests from 75 countries and performed over one million treatments have been performed, the hotel management told BTA.

Pavel Banya is a balneological centre with a long-standing tradition in mineral water treatments, and the Sevtopolis Medical & SPA Hotel combines this natural resource with modern medical expertise, the hotel management added. The primary focus is on diseases of the musculoskeletal system and the peripheral nervous system, with therapeutic programmes including hydrotherapy, mud therapy, physical therapy, kinesitherapy, and specialized rehabilitation procedures under medical supervision. The spa centre complements medical services with a wide range of therapies based on mineral water and mud, as well as modern relaxing and restorative rituals.

The complex emphasized that it is precisely the combination of balneotherapy and a high-end spa experience that creates a comprehensive product meeting the highest international standards, and among the key factors for the growing international interest is the offered comprehensive approach based on individual diagnosis and personalized programmes.

Sevtopolis Medical & Spa Hotel stands out with a distinctive concept of tranquility and a controlled environment, with the atmosphere purposefully built around silence, balance, and personal space. “The concept resembles a boutique wellness club, where every detail is dedicated to the process of recovery and long-term comfort, and it is precisely this consistent philosophy that has gradually established itself over the years as a recognizable standard in the segment and is increasingly defining a direction that influences the development of modern medical spa tourism in Bulgaria,” the hotel management said.

Although it has been on the market for 15 years, the hotel maintains dynamic growth and annually enhances its offerings with new elements in both its therapeutic programmes and its spa and hospitality environment.

The hotel’s founder and owner, Milena Ivanova, is a well-known figure in the sector and frequently participates as an expert at national and international forums, where she shares knowledge and best practices aimed at improving quality and professional standards in medical and spa tourism.

Recognition of the high quality of services is also reflected in the awards granted by the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism, which has designated the hotel as the Best 5-Star Medical/SPA Hotel in Bulgaria for 2024 and 2025.

BTA presents news from certified spa, wellness, and medical spa centres in Bulgaria in its BG SPA: Salus per aquam, Health Through Water feature. Their total number exceeds 200.
