The implementation of the decision on sending aid to Ukraine is "in the process of being organized", said Defence Minister Todor Tagarev Friday. He was speaking to the press on the sidelines of a forum of the Atlantic Union of Reserve Officers.

The Minister said that Ukraine will get first "what is most needs".

Taking a reporter's question, he said that he is supportive of Ukraine's entry in NATO and has participated in the preparation of the national position on the matter.

He said that the text of a draft political declaration in support of Kyiv's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance is "good" and he hopes it would get the broadest possible support.

The Minister expressed support for the establishment of a NATO-Ukraine council as a higher level in relations. "Ukraine's accession to NATO won't happen now but when the conditions allow and the key condition is that there is no war on Ukrainian territory," Tagarev said. The other conditions are rule of law, democratic mechanisms and control by the civil society. "Ukraine, with all the ordeals it is going through now, will manage resolutely with any problems that may remain," he added.

He also said that his Ministry is in contact with the President's Office and added that the two institutions - and the executive branch and the Presidency in general - have to work together because they work in the name of the same interest.
