Two people were injured in a morning missile attack on the southern part of Odesa Region, Odesa Regional Military Administration head Oleh Kiper said Friday on Telegram. The victims sustained shrapnel wounds and are receiving the necessary medical treatment.

A missile struck private properties in the southern part of the region, setting three residential buildings on fire and damaging several others, according to the Regional Governor.

"Russian forces continue to deliberately target civilian infrastructure in the southern part of Odesa Region. Another missile strike damaged solar panels on the premises of an enterprise. Fortunately, no casualties were reported there. Relevant services are dealing with the aftermath," Kiper said.

The clean-up operation involved 16 firefighters and three fire engines from the State Emergency Service, as well as three personnel and one vehicle from the local fire brigade, the Odesa Region emergency service said on Telegram.

Bulgarians in the Odesa region number more than 150,000 and are the third largest population group in Ukraine, according to the latest official census data. About 50,000-60,000 Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
