site.btaGovernment Approves Protocol on Functioning of Bolhrad's G. S. Rakovski High School in Ukraine

The Council of Ministers approved the Protocol between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on the functioning of the G.S. Rakovski Highschool in Bolhrad, located in Ukraine's Odesa Region, signed on March 30, 2026, in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The protocol provides that students of Bulgarian origin will continue to study the Bulgarian language, as well as Bulgarian literature, history, traditions, and customs, along with other subjects taught in Bulgarian in accordance with the curriculum of the Bolhrad High School. They will also be provided with textbooks and teaching materials necessary for organizing the educational process.

The document acknowledges the important role of Bolhrad High School as an institution preserving the national identity and cultural heritage of the Bulgarian minority in Ukraine and guarantees the right of Ukrainian citizens belonging to this minority to receive education in their mother tongue.
