BTA will publish the names of the top-of-the-list candidates of every party/coalition for all constituencies for the April 19 parliamentary elections. The information about the candidates is provided by the respective political entity, the candidates themselves and other official sources.

Boyko Rashkov is the top-of-the-list candidate of Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria for Sofia’s 25th multi-member constituency, the coalition said here Thursday.

Rashkov is a former minister of the interior in the Kiril Petkov cabinet. He was caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior in two caretaker governments appointed by President Rumen Radev. He has been an MP in several National Assemblies.

He graduated in law from the Faculty of Law of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. From 1992, he served as deputy director of the National Investigation Service, and from 1995 to 2001 as its director. Between January 2008 and May 2009, he was deputy minister of justice.

From June to November 2009, he was chair of the National Bureau for Control of Special Intelligence Means, elected by the National Assembly. From 2009 to 2013, he was an investigator at the National Investigation Service. On 27 December 2013, Parliament elected him chair of the National Bureau for Control of Special Intelligence Means, a post he held until 27 December 2018.

Boyko Rashkov has held a doctorate in law since 1993 and is the author of articles and publications in the field of criminal procedure law.
